Malcolm X
You can’t separate peace from freedom because no one can be at peace unless he has freedom! Malcolm X, 1925-1965

Malcolm X, aka Malik Shabazz, aka Malcolm Little, is arguably the famously known acronym in Islam. Basically uneducated until he went to prison in his early 20’s, Malcolm learned to read by copying the contents of a whole dictionary mostly at nights by the dim light that shone in the passage on his cellblock. Converting to Islam in prison, he was to become the most rapidly promoted member of the NOI, gaining more admiration than his mentor, then leader Louis Farrakhan. Although he remained a Muslim, Malcolm eventually left the NOI and became more active in promoting Black Nationalism..

“A man who stands for nothing will fall for anything.” Malcolm X was a staunch advocate of Pan-Africanism, a theory whereby Africans in the diaspora develop and support their own “black” businesses to build black economies. Continue with the advancement of “Black Entrepreneurship.” Stimulate others to pursue education and development by exposing them to the doctrines of Malcolm X. Exhibit Malcolm X in your businesses, homes and offices for all to see. Awaken their curiosity with a Malcolm X customized sketch!

Malcolm X

“I believe in human beings, and that all human beings should be respected as such, regardless of their color.”

One of the most infamous yet popular activists of the 20th century was Malcolm X. Born in Nebraska in 1925, Malcolm Little spent most of his formative years in foster homes after the early loss of his father and his mother hospitalized in a mental institution. As a teenager with no education or skill to earn a living, he became a street “hustler” which led to him being charged with larceny and incarcerated for a number of years. It was during his incarceration that he was introduced to Islam by his older sister during her frequent visits.

Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. Malcolm learned to read in prison and did so by painstakingly copying every word from a dictionary to which he had access. After converting to Islam, Malcolm changed his last name from Little to X. This was done in honor of his ancestors who lost their identity during slavery. He eventually changed his last name to “Shabazz,” the name he gave to his wife and offsprings.

Notwithstanding that Malcolm went to prison and was assassinated at the early age of forty years old, he was already world famous. In his words: “I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice, no matter who it’s for or against.” Do you believe education can impact the future? Purchase and wear a Malcolm X T-shirt to let others know that you stand for ‘truth and justice’ regardless of who is impacted.
