Author, Anthropologist, Egyptologist, Historian, Politician, Physicist, Writer

Author of: The African Origin of Civilization: Myth or Reality, in which he proposed one of the most discussed theories regarding black civilization in history, Cheikh Anta Diop was imprisoned at least twice in his own country, in fear of him disrupting the status quo. Diop developed the test the melanin content in human pigment. This technique is still being used in forensics to identify the ethnicity of remains that are burnt beyond recognition.

Affectionately called the pharaoh of knowledge, Cheikh Anta Diop was convinced that African economy and pride can be revived if Africans support each other economically. Strategically place a custom sketch of Diop in your homes or businesses, introduce him to those who had never heard of him and help to foster sustainable growth and development of the “Black Economy.”

Cheikh Anta Diop

Author of The Origin of Mankind, The African Origins of Humanity, The African Origin of Civilization: Myth or Reality and Precolonial Black Africa. to name a few of his books, Cheikh Anta Diop was a Senegalese Egyptologist, political leader, anthropologist, historian and writer.
Diops IQ must have been extremely high as he was not only able to complete a number of degrees in ten years; but he was also able to translate portions of Einstein’s Theory of Relativity into the Senegalese language so that his people could benefit from this knowledge. As a member of the privileged class of Africans, Diop could have chosen to pursue his ambitions and disregard the masses but he didn’t.

His thesis for his doctorate was rejected several times as it was presented on the principle that Egypt was originally a “black culture.” The rejections only made Diop more determined to prove his theory and after spending nine more years in research and development, it was eventually published in 1955. Diop would not capitulate and in 1960 he earned his doctorate degree with the same thesis when he successfully defended his presentation.

“Humanity’s moral conscience progresses, slowly but surely.” Whether you believe in Diop’s theory of Egyptian civilization or not, you cannot fail to admire the resoluteness of Dr. Cheikh Anta Diop. Purchase a Diop shirt in support of his tenacity and to encourage “Intellectuals” to continue to “study the past----, -to derive lessons from it.” Show your support in a Diop tee!!
